Card Café was established in 2004 when the two founders set out to find the optimum method of staying in contact with the important people in their lives. As busy executives, Teague Bengtzen and David Miller found themselves wondering how they could balance the time required to run a large, successful commercial printing business while maintaining relationships outside of the office. Greeting cards seemed like the perfect medium to do the job. Card Café is the result of this quest.
Almost immediately work got underway to develop a system in which they, and others, could leverage the advantages of current technology, while always maintaining the personal and intimate nature of real paper traditional greeting cards. Card Café partnered with industry leader, Kodak, to acquire the digital technology to make this happen, then developed an industry leading web site. Currently, Card Café has print vendors in Utah and Maryland and is in talks with printers in other countries.
Today, Card Café is the clear leader in the online greeting card industry. Card Café gives customers the ease and convenience of shopping for real greeting cards and gifts from their computer without the hassle of spending unnecessary time at a store. In addition, the company gives customers the ability to add gifts to the cards and schedule all their greeting cards at one time for a year in advance.
From its founding, Card Café has had at its core a charitable component. A part of the revenue from each card is given to one of many worthy children's charities across the country.
Card Café is managed by a team of professionals from a variety of industries including the printing industry, e-commerce, greeting card, and finance industry. With all of the wonderful things Card Café has become, its mission is to help others achieve the dream the company's founders have of “showing someone you care”.
